🎓 Senior Walk 2026 🎓

Today our Class of 2026 graduates took part in one of our most meaningful traditions—the Senior Walk! 💙💛

Wearing their caps and gowns, our seniors walked the halls of Hawkins Middle School before heading out on buses to visit Sand Hill Elementary, Belfair Elementary, and Grapeview School—revisiting the places where their educational journey began.

A special thank you to Grapeview School for sending a bus to pick up the seniors who once walked your halls—we truly appreciate your support in making this day so special!

This tradition is one of our favorites, inspiring students of all ages to dream big, work hard, and graduate. It was especially heartwarming to see younger siblings watching their older brothers and sisters walk by in their caps and gowns—what a powerful moment! ❤️

Congratulations to our seniors—you are inspiring the future! 🎉

Graduation is tomorrow at 7pm at Phil Pugh Stadium.

🎉 Future Huskies on Campus! 🐾

Last week, Hawkins Middle School was thrilled to welcome our incoming 5th graders from Belfair Elementary and Sand Hill Elementary School!

Before their visits, Mr. Hackett and Mr. Davis traveled to both elementary schools to answer questions, calm any nerves, and give students a sneak peek of what middle school life is all about.

During their time at Hawkins, students toured the campus, met teachers, explored the classes they offer, and even had the chance to work alongside current Huskies!

From classrooms to hallways, the excitement was contagious as they got a true taste of middle school life.

We loved meeting our future Huskies and can’t wait to welcome them back this fall! 💙🐾

We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the incredible volunteers from Windermere Peninsula Properties who generously gave their time and energy to help beautify our campus 🌿🏫💙

Each year, Windermere Real Estate sets aside the first Friday in June for their annual Day of Service—closing both their Allyn and Belfair offices so brokers and staff can give back to the communities they serve 🤝✨ We were so fortunate to be one of the recipients of their kindness and hard work this year!

Despite the weather not cooperating 🌧️, these dedicated volunteers showed true resilience and spirit. They were caught in a downpour that temporarily paused their efforts, yet through it all, they kept smiles on their faces 😊 As soon as they could, they were right back outside—working even in the rain—to make a difference for our students and staff 💪🌧️

Your commitment, teamwork, and willingness to serve—even in less-than-ideal conditions—did not go unnoticed 🙌 Because of you, our campus is a more beautiful and welcoming place 🌸🌼

Thank you to each and every one of you for your generosity, enthusiasm, and community spirit. We are truly grateful! 💖👏

🚤🔬 Hands-On Science in Action! 🔬🚤

Our Advanced ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) class recently took learning beyond the classroom and into the field with a trip to Fair Harbor Marina! 🌊

Students explored the exact location where our Delayed Release Enclosure for salmon will be installed next year, connecting their classroom work directly to real-world environmental projects.

In Advanced ROV, students don’t just learn theory—they design, build, and operate underwater robots to tackle authentic challenges like:
✅ Salmon net pen monitoring
✅ Marine exploration
✅ Environmental assessment

This field experience gave students the opportunity to:
🔹 Test their skills in a real marine environment
🔹 Observe site conditions firsthand
🔹 Apply engineering and problem-solving in meaningful ways

There’s nothing like getting students out of the classroom and into hands-on learning—where innovation meets purpose and science comes to life.

👏 Way to go, Advanced ROV team! The future of marine technology is in great hands. 🌟

🚀 SPEED MENTORING at Amazon HQ! 🚀

A group of NMHS students had an incredible opportunity to visit Amazon Headquarters in downtown Seattle for a hands-on Speed Mentoring experience!
👏 21 Amazon employees generously volunteered their time to mentor students through three engaging rounds of conversations. Students gained valuable insights on:
✨ Internships & first jobs
✨ Interview tips
✨ Networking strategies
✨ Career pathways and more
Through meaningful dialogue and reflection, students discovered just how important transferable skills are in today’s workforce—especially building relationships and strong communication.
Opportunities like this help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world careers, and we are so grateful to Amazon and all the mentors who made it possible!

🌟 Student Spotlight: Samantha Neil 🌟

Records run in the family at North Mason! 💙

Back in 1972, Ken Van Buskirk set a school javelin record—now, decades later, his granddaughter, Samantha Neil, is making history of her own. The sophomore pole vaulter recently cleared a school-record 11 feet, the top mark in the state for 2A this season! 🎉
A two-time Olympic League champion, Samantha continues to soar—building on her runner-up finish at state last year. With hard work, dedication, and a passion for the sport, she’s proving that anything is possible! 💪✨

We can’t wait to see what she accomplishes next!
