North Mason HS Career and College Program and the North Mason Chamber of Commerce partnered together to coordinate the first ALL SCHOOL Career & College EXPO for NMHS and JTHS. There were 37 tables in the gym filled with community partners from various careers and colleges. In the Commons, there was a presentation on grade level specific financial aid information and post high school planning. In the auditorium, Amber Trail (Our Community Credit Union) and Leah Pokraka (Peninsula Credit Union) presented interview tips, digital foot printing, and personal branding.
The NMHS Career Center looks forward to empowering our students to dream big and connect to viable career pathways. One highlight from the event was our students from the NMHS EMT program recording vitals for students and staff.

❗️ALERT! Medivac Activity at District
We would like to inform school families, staff and students that the medivac activity is for an non-district related accident. This is impacting the lower parking lot by Phil Pugh Stadium, which is currently closed for parents picking up students.

🐴 After an impressive ride this weekend at the Washington State High School Equestrian Team (WAHSET) District Four Meet, two James Taylor High School students, Aria Stremlau and Ashlynn Clemo, won gold and will be heading to state with their Freestyle 6+ Drill Team! High school equestrians from across the state will meet in Moses Lake on May 15-18 to compete in a variety of disciplines. Please join us in cheering on our girls and the other members of their Drill Team as they prepare for state!

🎓 Senior Class Meeting 🎓
The senior class had a great opportunity today to meet with counselors to learn more about the many amazing scholarships available to them through the generosity of the North Mason Scholarship Foundation and other local businesses/agencies. The counseling team has been hard at work to make this information easily accessible to seniors and have attempted to streamline the application process by creating an online version of the scholarship notebook, which must be submitted by March 18th at 3:00 pm. Please note, some scholarships require additional documents be included, beyond what is requested through the scholarship notebook.

🌲APPLY TODAY - Mason County Forest Festival - Royalty Court🌲 Please submit the online application and email the following to royalty@masoncountyforestfestival.com: resume, copy of school transcript, medical release form, essay, and questionnaire by Friday, February 7th, 2025.
Students accepted for participation in Coronation will be required to attend practice sessions Tuesday nights at 6:00 preceding coronation that focus on interview skills, etiquette, Mason County Forest Festival history and royalty court expectations. Participation in coronation does not guarantee a position on the 2025 Royalty Court. Five members of the approved participants will be selected for a scholarship and Royalty Court title.

Staffing Update: We would like to inform you that Alexia Hadfield, Principal of James A. Taylor and ALE/CTE Director, has accepted a position as CTE Director for Central Kitsap School District. Alexia has greatly contributed to the advancement of North Mason's CTE and ALE programs, positioning us well for continued success and growth in these areas. Students will benefit from these robust programs for many years to come.
We wish Lexi the best as she embarks on her new position at Central Kitsap. The District will evaluate next steps needed to support the continued growth of our programs.
