Student Transfers

North Mason School District will accept transfer requests from families April 1st through April 30th

Due to the rapid growth in Belfair, transfers are granted on space availability per the school and grade level requested.

Intra-District Transfer Requests For In-District Families

Policy 3131– Intra-District Student Transfers, identifies the guidelines for a resident student who wishes to transfer between schools within the North Mason School District. We grant intra-district student transfer requests on a space-permitting basis. We approve an Intra-District Transfer Request for one school year only. The form must be completed annually.


CHOICE Transfer Requests For Out-Of-District Families

We will consider all CHOICE Transfer requests for the 2019-2020 school year beginning April 1st through April 30th. Parents will be notified within 45 days of April 30th if the request has been accepted or denied. To become a non-resident student in the North Mason School District, parents must file a CHOICE Transfer Request  online or with their resident school district.

Policy 3141 and Procedure 3141P – Out-of-District Transfers, speaks to a request for a nonresident transfer into or a resident transfer out of the North Mason School District. Non-resident transfers are granted on space-permitting basis. We approve a CHOICE Transfer Request for one school year only. The form must be completed annually.


To obtain a release from North Mason School District to enroll in a program in another school district, parents need to complete a CHOICE Transfer Request and submit it to the Educational Service Center. Forms should be completed through the CHOICE Transfer Request Portal.
